About this place
One side of the plate holds light lemon chicken curry; the other, rich Japanese Black Wagyu curry. Shinga Curry Cafe’s double curry is a welcome choice when neither option is easy to pass up. One visitor started with the lemon chicken, then squeezed on more lemon partway through the meal, enjoying the extra citrus with the curry’s spiced flavour. The golden lemon chicken curry is made with domestic chicken and cashew nuts, simmered in coconut milk, and can be served with lemon to taste. The Japanese Black Wagyu curry, meanwhile, left a strong impression on the visitor with its substantial chunks of meat and deep flavour reminiscent of demi-glace sauce.
There are 2 combinations: superb pork with golden lemon chicken, or Japanese Black Wagyu with golden lemon chicken. The pork curry comes with tender pork and vegetables; paired with the lemon chicken, it offers a chance to try two distinct curries in one meal. The menu lists both double curries with salad and a drink.
The café-style menu also offers ways to round out the meal. Homemade lassi made with soy milk is available with lunch; one visitor described it as pleasantly sweet and easy to drink. Coffee and tea are also options for a pause after the meal. For dessert, consider the mandarin orange yogurt parfait. A visitor described its flavour, centred on yogurt and mandarin orange, as refreshing, and noted that a mini size is available. The menu also lists a set discount when you add a drink.
Beyond curry, there is Neapolitan-style pasta with soft-cooked egg, as well as porcini cream pasta. There is plenty to choose from whether you are in the mood for curry or simply want a café meal. Lunch orders are taken from 11:30 to 15:30.
